Location and Environs
The property is situated close enough to the N137 quatre-voies (dual-carriageway) between Rennes and Nantes to be conveniently found, yet far enough to be quiet and peaceful.
The noisiest thing that happens, apart from the occasional local wedding, is when the baker calls to deliver bread mid-day and hoots to attract attention, or, at harvest time, when interesting large machines can occasionally be seen passing.
Apart from its many other very positive aspects, the fact that it is only a short journey to the N137 and one-and-a-half hours from St Malo is a definite plus. For those returning from further south to catch the mid-morning Brittany Ferries crossing to Portsmouth, it provides a convenient and comfortable overnight stop - much nicer than one of the modern budget hotels near the port or in the city suburbs en route, certainly in the view of our friend with a house on the Vendée!
Those arriving at St Malo on the early-evening Condor Ferries crossing to travel further south may find it equally convenient as a stop-over!
